What is a Case Study?
A case study is an in-depth investigation of an individual subject / topic.
Case study can be define as : Documented study of a specific real-life situation or imagined scenario, used as a training tool in business schools and firms. Students or trainees are required to analyze the prescribed cases and present their interpretations or solutions, supported by the line of reasoning employed and assumptions made.
We present here, a series of case studies related to the field of Non-Destructive Testing, which brings out the challenges and solutions found over the years in various situations and industries. These case studies show that even when the challenge looks un-resolvable or even if there is no solution in sight, NDT comes to the rescue, resulting in a simple solution in most of the cases. The solution not only exhibits lateral thinking and creative thinking, but also results in huge savings in the cost, which would have been exorbitant if NDT was not used in the right place.
